Seven people have died and nine others injured when a truck and a taxi collided on N2 Road between Mthatha and Dutywa

A truck driver fled the scene of an accident after a crash between a taxi and his truck killed 7 people on N2 near Mthatha Today.

According to reports, the Toyota Quantum was travelling from East London to Libode, while the truck was heading towards East London when they collided in misty conditions.

The truck driver fled the scene and is currently being pursued by the police and Car insurance.

The truck had a KZN registration plate.

The injured passengers were rushed to Mthatha General Hospital. Authorities have opened a case of culpable homicide and are investigating the incident.
