A 22 year old man was stabbed in the face and body during an argument over the contents of a DSW bin on Garden Street in Grangetown - KZN Thursday morning.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 07:59 by the public who witnessed the incident.
On arrival, Reaction Officers located a male on the side of the road. He sustained a laceration across his face and a penetrating wound on his neck.
He informed Reaction Officers that he was rummaging through bins in search of plastic and cardboard when the suspect approached him and demanded that they share the loot.
An argument ensued which ended in the suspect breaking a beer bottle (picture 3) and attacking the victim. Both men are known to each other.
Reaction Officers set out in search of the suspect and apprehended him fleeing on Palm Street in Grangetown - KZN. Officers returned to the scene with the man. He was positively identified by the injured male.
The suspect was handed over to the Verulam SAPS.
