Multiple vehicle accident leaves 1 critical and multiple injured in KZN Balgowan

Midlands EMS crews were dispatched to the N3 between Balgowan and Lions River for a multiple vehicle accident, including a bus and taxi with other vehicles.

On arrival 1 patient was found to be entrapped in the vehicle he was travelling with critical life threatening injuries and multiple other patients were injured.

Midlands EMS Advanced life support paramedics along with Midlands EMS rescue medics worked on the patient that was entrapped in the vehicle.

A decision was made on scene to call in Netcare 911 aeromedical helicopter due to the extent of the patients injury’s.

All patients were treated on scene by Midlands EMS paramedics before being transported to various hospitals for further care.

Authorities were in attendance.
