Man Critically Injured after Train Accident in Mt. Edgecombe KZN

A man in his twenties was critically injured after he was struck by a train in Mt. Edgecombe - KZN this morning (Sunday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 06:01 and discovered the man under a goods train. He sustained multiple open wounds to his head and body.

According to the Locomotive Driver, he noticed the man lying across train tracks. He attempted to stop the train but was unsuccessful. It is believed that the victim was assaulted and placed on the tracks prior to being run over by the goods train.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) are investigating further.
