Ladysmith - flash flood
Late last night on Christmas Eve, a massive storm hit the Ladysmith area, resulting in a flash flood of the Bell's Spruit and Kliprivier.
Amongst the flooded areas was the local SPCA and Caravan Park. Several vehicles have also been reportedly washed away.
Ladysmith SAPS K9 Search & Rescue member has worked tirelessly today, recovering the bodies of 6 people.
It is suspected that another 11 people are still missing. The search has been called off for the day, as the single Search and Rescue member and his K9 are exhausted and await additional resources.
IPSS Search and Rescue has deployed a 4-man team, 2 vehicle team to work with the SAPS K9 Search & Rescue.
Additional members remain on standby to be deployed to assist further if required.
IPSS partners, Al-Imdaad Foundation will be providing aid to those affected by these floods.
