N2 Northbound after Edwin Swales is closed after tanker fire

Use alternative routes to avoid delays.

South bound also closed at spaghetti junction. Traffic diverted from N2 SB onto N3 EB.

Incident occured two hours ago. Fuel tanker caught alight while travelling.

Truck Driver injured after Petrol Tanker catches Fire

Just after 1pm on Sunday afternoon ALS Paramedics were called to assist at a Petrol Tanker which caught alight on the N2 North Bound before Spaghetti Junction near Chesterville.

On arrival Paramedics found multiple Fire Engines on scene tackling the blaze.

ALS Paramedics were shown to the driver who had sustained minor injuries. He was stabilized on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.

At this stage the events leading up to the Fire is unknown however will be investigated by Durban Fire Department and SAPS.
