Girl (13) brutally assaulted by step-dad in Shallcross - suspect apprehended and handed over to police

It was a shocking and heartbreaking start to the Day of Reconciliation after a 13-year-old girl was brutally assaulted by her stepfather in the Shallcross area, this morning.

The PT Alarms Chatsworth ambassador and PT Ambulance Service crew responded to the call for assistance with the GBV case.

It is alleged that the teen girl was assaulted by her step-father and was found with multiple blunt force trauma to the body and mostly to the face. The victim had cuts on her body due to the suspect using a belt and panga during the assault.

The victim was treated by the PT Medical team and transported to a local hospital.

The PT Alarms team began to search the area for the suspect and successfully apprehended him not far from the location were the incident took place.

The suspect was handed over to Chatsworth SAPS for further processing.
